How to Use Them
These mats work for both articulation and language practice. Print and laminate each page so they can be reused again and again.
Articulation Practice
Have a child name a picture and place a token or playdough on it for motivation. For sentence-level practice, have them say the word, then make up a sentence using it. For a greater challenge, have them choose two pictures and use both words in one sentence, or pick a favorite picture and explain why. Use the game boards with a coin or die — move tokens along the board and name pictures as you go. First to the finish line wins!
Language Practice
Have a child name the function or category of a picture before placing a token on it. They can describe a picture, find two related pictures and explain the connection, or choose an action, place, and character picture to build a short narrative story.
