How I Use These Games in Therapy

These winter teletherapy speech therapy games can be adapted easily depending on the student’s goals.

Articulation Ideas

  • Word level: Name the picture
  • Phrase level: “I see a ___”
  • Sentence level: Create a sentence using the picture
  • Conversation: Tell a short story using the picture as a prompt

Language Ideas

  • Define the picture
  • Describe what it does
  • Explain the function
  • Name a synonym or antonym
  • Describe what it looks like (attributes)

When Students Can’t Control the Screen

These games work especially well for students who can’t control the mouse or touchscreen.

To keep them engaged:

  • The student tells you when to start the dice
  • The student tells you when to stop the dice

This gives them a sense of control while keeping the session moving smoothly.

About

Hi,

I'm  Bridget Giraldo, MS CCC-SLP

I've been a speech-language pathologist since 2006 — in schools, hospitals, preschools, and private practice. I created Speech Therapy Talk because I kept making materials I couldn't find anywhere else: research-based, bilingual, no-prep, and built for real caseloads. Now, I share them here.
